Fraikin wins contract with Aubrey Allen

Mar 27, 2013

Fraikin has won a valued contract with Aubrey Allen to provide five vehicles for its delivery operations.

Aubrey Allen is a leading catering butcher in the UK, delivering daily to some of the UK’s most renowned chefs, and prestigious hotels and restaurants. The company also lists Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle as part of its customer portfolio, for which it has recently been awarded a Royal Warrant.

Deliveries are made before the start of operations each day with vehicles often setting off in the early hours of the morning. Reliability is therefore key for the Coventry based premier butcher which describes itself as merely an ‘extension of its customers’ fridge and makes over 200 deliveries a day six days a week.

The contract, which is for 42 months, is for five Mercedes Sprinter refrigerated vehicles and includes full maintenance with an added facility of providing an additional vehicle and driver in times of peak. Fraikin will also manage all compliance issues.

Each vehicle, proudly displaying the Royal Warrant, will be maintained on a proactive basis based on mileage used. Fraikin will log the mileage monthly in order to gauge usage and regulate servicing. Fraikin is also providing national 24 hour breakdown cover, co-ordinated from the workshop at Oldbury, West Midlands.

In the event of a breakdown occurring, Fraikin will also supply replacement vehicles in order to maintain continuity of service.

“The size and infrastructure of the Fraikin operation enables them to react quickly and their emphasis on customer service gave us total peace of mind”

Wayne Holmes, Operations Manager, Aubrey Allen
Wayne Holmes, Operations Manager, Aubrey Allen cannot speak highly enough of both Fraikin’s level of service and flexibility. He commented: “Historically all our vehicles, apart from two which we own, have been sourced from a single provider, however after speaking with Fraikin we decided to move half the fleet such was the confidence we had in their operation. “The size and infrastructure of the Fraikin operation enables them to react quickly and their emphasis on customer service gave us total peace of mind.

“Furthermore the fact that their Oaktree workshop facility is also based in Coventry was an added bonus”.

Peter Backhouse, CEO, Fraikin, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract from Aubrey Allen.

“By the very nature of their operation, the need for reliability of service is critical however as far as Fraikin is concerned it’s all part of the job.”

“They had a number of very specific requirements which we were able to meet as well as provide the additional flexibility and value added services which gave them the assurance that we were the right partner for the job.”
