Fraikin wins contract with Furnishing Service

Fraikin has just won a contract with The Furnishing Service, not only will we provide 24 vehicles for its warehouse operations across the UK but we will also deliver the Certificate of Professional Competence Training for 10 of their drivers.


It is the first time The Furnishing Service has worked with Fraikin. The contract represents a substantial capital investment by Fraikin and in addition to providing the new vehicles, the company will also undertake the fleet management for the next five years, including breakdown cover.


Whilst the Furnishing Service knew the type of vehicles they required they nevertheless took advice from Fraikin on the structure of the fleet and were therefore able to scale down the number of 7.5 tonne vehicles. The new fleet ranges from small Citroen vans to transits to 7.5 tonne tail-lifts.


The East Kilbride based company provides a furnishing and floor covering service to more than 60 Local Authorities and Housing Associations throughout the UK and furnishes more than 150 properties a month.


The company has warehouses and showrooms in East Kilbride, which also houses its head office, Manchester and East London enabling them to meet the exact needs of its customers whether they require a single item or a complete household inventory and customers can rest easy in the knowledge that their property will be fully furnished within the agreed timescale.


With an enviable reputation for delivering excellent customer service the Furnishing Service’s choice of vehicle provider was key.


Prior to Fraikin, the company has had a number of suppliers but had become dissatisfied with the vehicles and were suffering an increasing number of breakdowns which was simply unsatisfactory.


The decision was taken to opt for a single supplier and Fraikin was their number one choice.
