Scottish furniture retailer Sterling Furniture has taken delivery of three new commercial vehicles from contract hire specialist Fraikin, each supplied on a three year deal.
These latest fleet replacements include two Iveco Eurocargos and one Daily, which join a fleet totalling 10 trucks, supplied exclusively by Fraikin's Glasgow branch.
Each of the Eurocargo 75E17's are fitted with Ray Smith demountable bodies and have been supplied together with a total of four 24 ft Boalloy boxes, enabling a fast turnaround of vehicles during the loading and unloading process. The Daily 35C14 is mounted with a Luton body, also manufactured by Boalloy.
Commenting on the delivery, Tom Moylan, Sales Director at Sterling Furniture explains: "Fraikin has been our sole supplier of commercial vehicles ever since we completed a sale and hire back agreement over 10 years ago.
"Contract hire offers clear financial forecasting in relation to our transport operation and also removes many of the everyday hassles associated with running a fleet of trucks, allowing us to focus our attention on growing our business as Scotland's largest independent furniture retailer."
The two Eurocargos will be used primarily for long distance trunking and are expected to cover up to 80,000 miles a year, whilst the Daily will be focused on domestic deliveries supporting the company's retail outlets in Aberdeen, Ayr, Dundee, Edinburgh, Inverness, Tillicoultry and Uddingston.
The contract hire agreement with Fraikin includes collection and delivery of the vehicles for servicing, repair and maintenance, road fund licensing, tyres and comprehensive breakdown support.
