Swadlincote-based Toons Furnishers has renewed its contract hire agreement with Fraikin for the supply of two 7.5 tonners, each finished in the company’s distinctive blue livery.
Provided on a five year full service contract hire agreement, the two DAF LF45’s replace two Iveco Cargos previously supplied by Fraikin, and join a fleet of panel vans used for domestic deliveries across the Midlands. Each of the new vehicles has been fitted with a dropwell box body with a Luton head, together with fold-down rear ramp.
Commenting on the delivery, Belinda Toon, Managing Director, explains: “We switched from a policy of outright purchase to contract hire five years ago and the agreement with Fraikin has proved a real success from both an operational and financial viewpoint.
“Fraikin takes care of all of the hassles associated with running the trucks, and essentially all we need to do is supply the drivers and fuel. Contract hire gives us clear financial forecasting, as we know exactly how much our trucks will cost five years in advance, with the payments spread over 60 monthly instalments,” she adds.
The contract with Fraikin includes collection and delivery for servicing at its local branch in Tamworth, together with maintenance, MOTs, road fund licensing, tyres and comprehensive breakdown support. At the end of the contract the vehicles are simply returned to Fraikin, meaning Toons Furnishers has none of the problems associated with vehicle disposal.
Toons Furnishers supplies a huge selection of beds, upholstery, rugs, carpets,
soft furnishings and dining furniture from its 60,000 sq ft premier store
in Swadlincote, supported by a satellite store in Swadlincote, Staffordshire.
