Fraikin has extended its full service contract hire deal with Rugby-based Robert Mitchell Potatoes Ltd, delivering two new DAF 45’s on a five year agreement; each finished in the company’s striking new livery.
The vehicles join a fleet totalling 15 commercial vehicles which operate across the Midlands, delivering pre-packed and frying potatoes to caterers, retailers and fish & chip shops. Fitted with curtainside bodies, they join seven DAF 65’s supplied by Fraikin on a similar contract in 2005.
“We have a policy of contract hiring all new trucks joining the fleet, with this latest order awarded to Fraikin on the back of its high service standards over the past 12 months,” says Stuart Mitchell, Director of Robert Mitchell Potatoes, founded in 1883.
“The main benefit of contract hire is that it enables us to leave the hassle of managing our fleet to the experts, safe in the knowledge that our vehicles are being maintained correctly and comply with all necessary legislation,” he adds.
The contract with Robert Mitchell Potatoes includes all repair and maintenance, MOTs, road fund licensing, tyres and comprehensive breakdown support. At the end of the contract the vehicles are simply returned to Fraikin, meaning the customer has none of the hassles associated with vehicle disposal.
Each of the new vehicles are in operation five days a week and expected to cover up to 30,000 miles a year.
