Fraikin has launched two new road transport industry guidebooks in its popular ‘What you need to know’ series covering the forthcoming changes to EU drivers’ hours regulations and the subject of alternative fuels, and what options are available for commercial vehicle operators.
Electronic PDF versions are available to download from www.fraikin.co.uk, together with copies of other booklets released over the past 12 months, which include guides to Euro 4, digital tachographs, speed limiters, working time regulations and compulsory driver training.
David Farbon, Commercial Director, explains: “The industry is awash with new legislation at present, which can be both confusing and daunting, particularly for own-account operators for whom road transport is a necessary requirement and not a core part of their business.
“The EU drivers’ hours guide tackles a major issue which will affect nearly every company running a fleet of trucks from April 11, whilst the alternative fuels booklet contains practical advice for companies looking to minimise their carbon footprint,” he adds.
The first guidebooks were originally introduced in 2006 to help Fraikin’s customers understand the new legislation surrounding Euro 4 and digital tachographs, but have since been expanded and made available to a far wider audience online.
In total, Fraikin has sent out over 20,000 guidebooks to customers, with several thousand more electronic copies already requested online.
Each eight page booklet answers the basic who, why, what, where, when and how questions, whilst cutting out a lot of unnecessary industry jargon. They are designed to bring any driver, transport manager or company boss fully-up-to-speed with new legislation in a matter of minutes.
